Ok, it has been a slow day to get into work. But I have done something that I have allways wanted to do… and that is actually analyse a comic strip. It sounds dumb, that I should be doing this for the first time the week before the thesis is due in.
Funnily enough, direct annalysis and criticism is what I do best. In hind sight, I really should have focused on the comic strip art of ONE artist. But I though at the time (and still do, academically speaking) that an underlying rationale for all comic strips is needed.
My change of mind comes from teh time limiits of the thesis.
I feel like a ninja… I came up with one rather original line today, which I share with you :
Temporality is SIGN POSTED (signaled) by the panel. It is RECORDED by the figuarative positions of the characters, but it is INDEXED by temporal markers.
This is actually kinda the crux of my annalysis, and I’m rather proud of it. That may change in the next ten minutes.
