Field of Daize’s

Cos I’m not listening to you anymore

February 25th, 2004

So many things happened on the weekend. I wanted to write them down, but it is too late now. too many things came up, not enough time in front of the computer straight after events, and a total lack of energy to write anything means that I won’t really go into stuff.

I’ll say this. Went to Ani DiFranco concert, and it was marvelous. She has an incredible energy and charisma. Besides, I saw it with Jimmy, who allways puts me in a a good mood. Then on Sunday was tropfest. Some fantastic animations!

Dark is the light

February 20th, 2004

I had a somewhat bizarre day yesterday, and I’m using this method to vent. So, this is not going to be an insightful entry. It does not give you a look into my psyche, nor am I confessing some strange evil. It is just a whinge. A badly written whinge, at that, but I have to keep my sanity somehow, and this journal is how I do it.

someday we’ll find it

I went out to coffee today, and finally managed to buy myself some art supplies. Nothing fancy, just some sketch paper, a ruler, some white gauche and some brushes. I love to buy stuff, but today’s purchase really excites me. I’m slowly loosing the grip on everyday life, and I think I need to take lots more time to myself, and do something like my comic strip.

Come and dance

Those obeservant people out there will notice the time stamp of this entry. It is early, and I am not a morning person. For some people, morning means 7:00am. My mornings have no “am” suffix, ever. So you can appriciate that my brain is not fully functioning at this time. I’m a terrible bore in the mornings, sans-coffee.

I’m sitting in Fisher library, somewhat procrastinating from what needs to be done. I should be trying to track why the hell I’m not enrolled at uni this year (some cock up… buggers), but instead, I’m lured to the sweet hum of the library.

When this ol’ world starts getting you down

February 11th, 2004

Thank you everyone for your kind words. And yes, I think a game of mahjong shall have to be implemented very soon!

Well, as per usual, when I’m feeling a little down, drawing (or a poor escuse for it) starts to happen. Funnily enough, the comics that are up at the moment are not drawn at this time… rather, they are months old. Still, there are three new comics to view at King Romulus site.

Any feedback would be cool.

Bigger than you.. and you are not me.

Had a strange night at work. After getting less than four hours sleep, I did yet again a whole shift. What can I say… I need the money. Still, conditions are getting better. Had an interesting chat with the Boss…… imparted some of my boring knowledge of WMP (working memory placekeepers). It is a psychology theory, that is wholly boring to anyone but myself. One of those “let’s try and model intelligence by using computer like models).

The marvels of a good meal.

February 6th, 2004

So yesterday I went out dining for the first time in ages. There are two things that hold me back from dining: The cost and the company. There are few people that I know that actually like to go to restaurants, specially the snobby ones that I like to go to. And offcourse, I never really have any disposable cash. However, a friend of mine just finished a massive business project, and there was cause to celebrate.

Well, my sister took a couple of shots of that hectic catering weekend, and here are four of the best-ish ones. Go to my Pics page to see the new frivolity.

Cold and crying on the floor

February 2nd, 2004

What a stellar weekend. So, it all starts with a catering job that i got from my ex-boss from Vivaz. 35 people, who wanted authentic mexican food. Was up for the challenge: Definately. Did I realise that cooking all that food might be somewhat cumbersome on a domestic kitchen: evedently not.
